The 2026 mid-year population is listed as 30,640,817 in the UN WPP 2024 medium-variant table reproduced by Worldometer. Because 2026 is beyond the WPP 2024 estimate period, it is a projection value.
Why does the 2005 census value differ from the WPP 2005 value?
The 2005 census count is an enumeration result, while the WPP table is a modelled mid-year population series. They are related demographic measures but not the same measurement type.
Is Cameroon’s fertility below replacement level?
No. The 2026 WPP-based fertility value shown here is 4.12 births per woman, above the broad 2.1 replacement-level benchmark.
